Daniel Paredez
Flamenco Instructor
Daniel began his dance training with the Aztlan Dance Company, a contemporary Latin-expressive dance company based in Austin, Texas under artistic director Roen Salinas with whom he performed during the Summer of 2005 in various dance venues. He has been training intensively with local flamenco dance teacher Estela Velez since January 2006 and has participated in workshops with Maestros Antonio Santaella, Antonio Vargas and La Farruca.
He became a member of the Furia Flamenca Dance Company in March 2006, and shortly thereafter, became the company's lead male dancer including performing as a soloist for the company. He has performed in numerous venues throughout the DC Metro area including theaters, such as Dance Place, the Jack Guidone Theater, and the Ernst Community Center and outdoor festivals, such as Magical Montgomery, Taste of Bethesda, the annual Feria de Sevilla, Adams Morgan Day and Fiesta DC, to name a few.
He has appeared in numerous television shows including "Daily Cafe" for the Retirement Network Television and "After Midnight" for the Baltimore Public Access Television. He was selected to dance with the Washington National Opera in the production of Don Giovanni opening at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the Fall of 2007. |
