Vielka Martinez

Salsa Instructor

A native of both Panama and Cuba, Vielka grew up dancing Salsa and Merengue, with her passion continuing into her adult life. 

Minoring in Dance at George Mason University, she expanded her dance repertoire by studying Jazz, Tap, Modern Dance and Afro-Cuban dance.   

On the performance side, Vielka competed and won various titles at GMU’s International Week dance competition, while representing the Hispanic Student Association. She's also a member of Conga Beat, the resident Salsa dance company at Born 2 Dance Studio.

She has been teaching Salsa classes at Joe’s Movement Emporium in Mount Rainier, MD , in addition to hosting workshops at various venues throughout the D.C. Metro Area.

Vielka joined the Born 2 Dance Studio faculty in 2011.
