Katie Anderson
Hip Hop Instructor
For native Washingtonian, Katie Anderson, dance has been her passion
since the early age of 3. This ‘love affair’ has given
her many prestigious performance opportunities such as dancing at
Carnegie Hall in NYC, performing at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney
Australia
Also appearing on the televised show Live at he Apollo, opening
for RnB singer Miguel, dancing in Disney World, choreographing and
dancing in several music videos, as well as various other performances
in New York City and the Washington area.
Katie has trained in tap, jazz, ballet, modern, musical theater,
African, and hip hop, participating in competition teams and performance
companies throughout her youth. She was an active member of
Urbanknowlogy: the prestigious Hip Hop dance team at George Mason
University.
After graduation, Katie went to New York City where she
continued studying dance under various industry greats such as Sheryl
Murakami and Rhapsody James, at the world-renowned Broadway Dance Center
for over a year and received the “Outstanding Performer Award” at the
end of her tenure.
Katie joined the Born 2 Dance Studio faculty in 2011.
