In this introductory level class, students will learn the basic movements and concepts of Salsa dancing.
This class is ideal for students looking to make a foray into the splendid work of Salsa dancing, while enjoying a fun-filled and vibrant class experience.
A dance partner is not required for this class, as students will rotate partners throughout the class. However, if you and your partner come to class together and prefer not to switch, then simply inform the instructor of your preference.
Prerequisites: No prior dance experience necessary.
What's Next? After completing this course, it's recommended that students enroll in Salsa-Introduction Part II. Thereafter, they can move up to Salsa-Beginner II.
To encourage practice, we host periodic "Salsa Socials" on Friday evenings, where students can practice their dance skills in a an event that features workshops and 2-3 hours of open dancing.

The class will progress into more advanced turns, shines and partnering work.

Prerequisites: This class is designed for students who have completed the Salsa Introduction course.
What's Next? After completing this class, students can move on the Salsa-Beginner II class.

Salsa—Beginner I (Technique)

In this beginner-level class, students will gain a solid mastery of basic Salsa moves and will progress towards more advanced turns and combinations as the session progresses.
In addition to technique breakdown, instructors will provide constant drills in class allowing students to practice their newly-acquired skills.
But there's no better practice than actual dancing, which is why we frequently host "Salsa Socials" on Friday evenings, where students can practice their dance skills in a an event that features workshops and 2-3 hours of open dancing.
Provided that you practice outside of class and participate in our dance parties, you should expect to comfortably hold your own on a Salsa dance floor by the end of the 10-week session. But of course results may vary.
A dance partner is not required for this class, as students will rotate partners throughout the class. However, if you and your partner come to class together and prefer not to switch, then simply inform the instructor of your preference.

About Salsa
The name "Salsa" is Spanish for sauce, connoting a “spicy flavor!” The dance is a fusion of various informal dance styles having roots in the Caribbean (especially Cuba and Puerto Rico), South America, North America and Africa. Salsa is usually a partner dance, but there are also many solo steps.

Prerequisites: This class is most suitable for students with prior Beginner-I class experience or a good knowledge of Salsa dancing.
What's Next? Students are encouraged to take Salsa Intermediate (Technique and Combinations) upon completion of this class.

Salsa—Intermediate (Technique and Combinations)
Students will progress into more complex turns, footwork, partnering and styling combinations, building on the core foundation taught in previous classes.
This class teaches Salsa-On-Two.
A dance partner is not required for this class, as students will rotate partners throughout the class. However, if you and your partner come to class together and prefer not to switch, then simply inform the instructor of your preference.
To encourage practice, we host periodic "Salsa Socials" on Friday evenings, where students can practice their dance skills in a an event that features workshops and 2-3 hours of open dancing.
Prerequisites: This Intermediate/advanced level level is most suitable for students with over 1.5 years of Salsa class and dance experience.

Salsa Intermediate: Puerto Rican-style Technique & Combinations
This Intermediate-level class teaches intricate shines, elaborate styling and advanced turn combinations, drawing on Puerto Rican-inspired technique and concepts, taught by none other than Puerto Rico-native: instructor Hugo Mussenden.
For avid students of SalsaOn2, this class will help you sharpen your movements, improve your musicality and make your styling stand out from the crowd.
Previous Beginner II or higher experience is recommendeded.
A dance partner is not required for this class
Prerequisites: This Intermediate/advanced level level is most suitable for students with over 1.5 years of Salsa class and dance experience.

Salsa-Afro Cuban Classic Mambo

This specialty Salsa class will focus on Afro-Cuban styling, footwork, shines, turns and spins.
Learning the Afro-Cuban style will help you become faster and more coordinated, as well as improve your musicality—making you better at reading and understanding Latin music, which will in turn make your movements look sharper and poised.
Prerequisites: This class is ideal for students with a minimum of 10 weeks of Beginner-I class experience.
A dance partner is not required for this class.
This is an Open-Session Class.

Salsa Intermediate—Turn Patterns, Dips and Shines
This intermediate level class will sharpen your every move to sizzling perfection while taking your dancing from average Joe to seasoned Pro.
Students will learn to enhance their range of movement through body isolations. They will discover new techniques, tricks and hot new turn patterns. Most importantly, you will explore the art of dipping, with focus on style and pizzazz.
Instructions will be presented in an easy-to-follow format, which include technique breakdown, personalized pointers and a weekly review of moves learned.
Prerequisites: This class requires prior beginner II level class experience.
This is an Open-Session Class.

This class is ideal for students with Beginner or Intermediate class experience.
Students will learn advanced shines, turns, shoulder rolls, crossover body leads and spins; all designed to broaden their dance vocabulary, as well as improve their speed and poise.
A dance partner is not required for this class.
This is an Open-Session Class.
Prerequisites: This class is ideal for students with Beginner II or Intermediate class experience.

In this intermediate-level class, students will learn a styling and shines-based choreography designed for the stage.
No dance partner is required for this choreography class.
Prerequisites: A minimum of one year of previous Salsa class experience.
This is an Enrollment-Session class.
