This is Not your average hula hooping!
The Introduction to Hula Hoop class will teach students the foundational moves of Hoop Dance or Hooping-- an artistic movement that incorporates free form dance with object manipulation.
While somewhat technical by nature, Hooping also takes cues from belly dancing, hip-hop, hula, African dance and many others, leaving lots of room for self-expression.
By the end of this session, students will have learned not only how to hoop at their waist, but also how to hoop at their hips, legs, chests, and shoulders, as well as creative ways to take the hoop on and off the body.
Hoops will be provided in class.
No prior dance (or hoop!) experience necessary.
Recommended Attire: Comfortable workout clothes that are close-fitting. No loose T-shirts or baggy pants.
This class is an Open-Session, which means students can enroll in this session at the shown costs or simply drop-in one class at a time for a cost of $20 without enrolling.
