On a given 10-week session, an average of 5-6 routines will be taught, thus allowing students to expand their repertoire of movements.
This introductory-level Hip Hop class is open to all adult students without any prior dance experience. It provides a structured method of learning various Hip Hop dance movements in a fun-filled and vibrant class environment, and offers a new set of combinations and routines every time.

Often seen in music videos, especially those of artists Beyonce, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga, this sultry style of Hip Hop is designed to unleash your femininity through artistic expression.
As lighthearted as it may seem, the class is very technical in nature and is best suited for students with prior Hip Hop class experience. Aspiring video vixens with previous class experience in Burlesque or Street Jazz classes are also welcome to join
If you ever plan to perform on stage at our semi-annual galas (or elsewhere), this class will benefit you tremendously.
The class focuses on teaching specific stage performance skills, such as projecting the right facial expressions and exuding the most appropriate aura for the choreography at hand, in addition to more technical aspects, such as precise blocking and artful posing.
Needless to say, these stage skills will be taught through mini Hip Hop routines and short choreography pieces, which will incorporate a particular area of focus that will be drilled, discussed and critiqued in order for students to master one stage skill at a time.
This class is suitable for both beginner and more experienced students.
Hip Hop (Avatars For the Stars) with Morgan Canham
Inspired by a celebrity impersonation dance show that was choreographed and performed by instructor Morgan Canham and members of her dance company, this first of its kindclass pays tribute to some of Hip Hop and Pop’s most iconic female stars, including Ke$ha, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears, as it teaches choreography pieces that best capture the essences of each of those artists, incorporating some of their most famous dance routines, facial expressions, signature moves, and of course, their music.
With each week, the class will be dedicated to a new artist and students will be encouraged to don whatever costumes and accessories they think best mimics the artist’s style and persona.
In essence, for one hour every week, you will get to become that artist…or at least, become their avatar!
This class is suitable for both beginner and more experienced students.

Popping is a street dance and one of the original funk styles that came from California during the 1960s-70s.
It is based on the technique of quickly contracting and relaxing muscles to cause a jerk in the dancer's body, referred to as a pop or a hit.
As one of the earliest funk and street dance style, popping is closely related to hip hop dancing and is often performed in battles, where participants try to outperform each other in front of a crowd

Locking
Locking is a style of funk dance and street dance, which is today also associated with Hip Hop.
It relies on fast and distinct arm and hand movements combined with more relaxed hips and legs. The movements are generally large and exaggerated, and often very rhythmic and tightly synced with the music.
This class is formatted to be accessible to students without dance experience, while offering enough challenging combinations for more experienced students.
